Plastic Beach is just a winner. I didn’t know I could like Snoop Dogg until I heard him lay down some great verses on here, and the whole nature of this album for suresies turned me on to a quality rap scene that includes Gorillaz, Das Racist, and now even Kanye (sorry to sell out). All the guests on here do a great job and mad props go out to Damon Albarn for even having the vision to make this stuff. Gorillaz is on my must-see list now.

The Radio Dept. came out with probably the most blissful album of 2010. It’s right at the heart of the sometimes-annoyingly-current chillwave craze, but still manages to be invigorating and full of warmth with each listen. It’s probably the album that I’ve become most familiar with ever. The frontman doesn’t have the greatest voice, I can tell from live videos, but he dolls it up with reverb and probably a bit of pitch-altering to make it silky and sweet. The slightly blasphemous lyrics of “You Stopped Making Sense” and “Heaven’s on Fire” make his voice and the album as a whole all the more charming.
